Cedric de Leon's Biography

Cedric de Leon received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan. He also has degrees from the University of Cambridge and Yale University.

From 1994 to 2006, Cedric was an organizer, researcher, and elected leader for several unions, including the Service Employees International Union, the United Farm Workers, and the American Federation of Teachers. ​
​​​​
A leading authority on labor, race, and political parties, he has been interviewed by the Boston Globe, NPR's All Things Considered, CNN, and USA Today.
​
He is frequently called upon to speak on the role of organized labor in meeting the current political crisis.
